People that work with at-risk youth . . .

Today I pray for people that work with at-risk youth. Working with at-risk youth can be extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time. It certainly is not for the faint hearted. We often find ourselves bring home their burdens and constantly praying for their situations. Without taking the burdens and cares to God, we can be ensnared by the messiah trap, falsely believing that we are supposed to be bear their burdens and carry their cross. Although we are called to walk with them, the walk that we take is to the feet of Jesus so that we can lay both of our issues at His feet and so that we do not grow weary in doing well.

Today I pray for people that work with at-risk youth. Father, I ask that You grant us insight and wise on so that we will walk in Your light and love at all times while working with them. I pray that You help us not to falsely believe that we are do be the messiah but to acknowledge and trust in Your finished work, pointing people to that truth. Father, thank You that You are using us to help these students break free from detrimental generational cycles. I pray that you keep us humble and help us to always walk in the fruit of the Spirit. Help us to always pray and faint not. Help us to love not only in word but in deed also. May we always remember that Your compassions fail not and that it is because of Your great love that we are not consumed by our circumstances. Help us to be instruments of that same love. Father, we ask You to bless and draw every at-risk youth that we work with and come in contact with this year. May 2013 be the year that the hearts of the youth are turned to their Father. We ask these things in Jesus Name, Amen.
