Today I pray for people who curse themselves through the words of their mouths. So often we overlook the importance of our words. The scriptures says that people “are snared” by the words of their mouths (Proverbs 6:2). Since life and death are in the power of the tongue, let us seek God’s guidance on how we wield it. James tells us that, “If anyone does not stubble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to also bridle his whole body” (3:2). Proverbs also tells us that,”He who guards his lips guards his life” (13:3).
Therefore, today I pray for people who curse themselves through the words of their mouths. Father, please help us be more conscientious of what we say. Help us to be slow to speak, slow to anger and quick to hear what You have to say about the situation. Help us not to curse situations but to know that ALL things are possible with you and that You cause everything to work together for our Good. Father, we need You to change the course of our lives and I know that it begins in what we say. Be a door to our lips and a bridle to our tongue. In Jesus Name. Amen.
